Consultation Checklist: Preparing for Your Virtual Visit

Five minutes of preparation ensures a lifetime of better health.

To help our clinicians provide the most accurate diagnosis and care plan, please follow this simple checklist before logging into your secure Nehu Health portal.

Get in touch

1. Technology & Connection

  • Check Your Internet: Ensure you have a stable Wi-Fi or 4G/5G connection.

  • Device Setup: Use a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a working camera and microphone.

  • Battery Life: Ensure your device is plugged in or fully charged.

  • The Link: Find your secure meeting link in your confirmation email or Nehu Patient Portal.

2. Your Environment

  • Privacy: Choose a quiet, private room where you can discuss sensitive health matters freely.

  • Lighting: Sit facing a window or a bright lamp. Good lighting is essential for our clinicians to assess your skin, eyes, or throat.

  • Noise: Turn off televisions, radios, or loud fans that might interfere with the audio.

3. Medical Information

  • Medication List: Have all your current prescription bottles, vitamins, and supplements nearby.

  • Vital Signs: If you have home monitoring devices, please take your Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, and Temperature just before the call.

  • Symptoms: Write down when your symptoms started and what makes them feel better or worse.

  • Questions: Prepare a list of the top three questions you want to ask the clinician.

Special Instructions for Dermatology (Skin) Issues

If you are booking a consultation for a rash, lesion, or acne, please take high-resolution photos of the area in natural light and upload them to the portal before your call.

Special Instructions for Pediatrics

  • Have the Child Present: It is important for the clinician to see and hear the child, even if they are sleeping.

  • Have a Thermometer Ready: The clinician may ask you to take a live temperature reading.

  • Growth Charts: Have your child’s health booklet or previous weight records available.

What Happens After the Call?

At the end of your virtual visit, your clinician will:

  • Summarize the Diagnosis: Explain their findings in plain language.

  • Send Prescriptions: Digital prescriptions can be sent directly to your preferred pharmacy.

  • Order In-Home Care: If you need a nurse for blood draws or dressings, they will schedule this immediately.

  • Provide a Care Summary: A digital report will be available in your Nehu Patient Portal within an hour.
